Educator Services

Bexley Public Library offers a variety of special services, materials, and resources for teachers.

We offer book talks, storytimes, library tours, e-reader demonstrations, and introductions to online resources. Choose the type of visit that is best for you and your students. Have us visit your school or come visit us at the library. Class Visits are free and can be scheduled as often as once a month.
We know you have enough to do without sifting through the library catalog for books. Let us help by putting together a Teacher Collection to compliment the curriculum and enhance your lesson plans. Teacher Collection requests can be submitted in-person, over the phone, or through the online form.
To make it easier for you to get library resources into the classroom and the hands of your students, Educator Cards are available to eligible teachers, homeschoolers, and daycare providers in Franklin County. To register, you must have a personal Bexley Public Library card in good standing, as well as proof of current teaching status.
Educator Cards must be renewed annually and offer the following benefits: no fines for overdue materials, consideration for up to three lost or damaged items a year, extended loan period of 14 days for DVD borrowing, and an increased borrowing limit of 100 items.
We believe library cards are life-changing resources, which is why we hope every student in the Bexley City Schools district is able to have his or her own library card. Because it is difficult for some families to make it to the library together and because minors need a parent or legal guardian’s signature to obtain a library card, many children are left without this valuable tool. If you have a student in your classroom without a library card, please email for a special registration form that can be sent home with your student and returned to you at school. We will pick up completed forms and drop-off library cards at the school office.
Students will find library staff and volunteers ready to help with homework from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday during the school year. The Homework Zone also offers access to computers, school supplies, and free printing.
